POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD)

PTSD can make past traumatic experiences feel immediate and overwhelming, often with distressing flashbacks and nightmares. At Interventional Psychiatry Group, we provide personalized, evidence-based treatment to help you heal.

What is PTSD?
PTSD can affect children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced or witnessed traumatic events such as actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence.
Symptoms may include intrusive memories, nightmares, flashbacks, intense distress when reminded of the trauma, avoidance of triggers, negative mood or thoughts, and hyperarousal (e.g., irritability, hypervigilance, sleep disturbance).

What treatments help manage PTSD?
First-line treatments include psychotherapy (e.g., trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy) and medication (often antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications).
Interventional Psychiatry Group offers psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and GeneSight® testing to personalize treatment.

We are also proud to partner with the Veteran Community Care Network to accept referrals from the Memphis VA.
