ATTENTION-DEFICIT/HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD)
ADHD is a common neurodevelopmental condition that affects both children and adults. ADHD can impact many areas of daily life, including school, work, relationships, and self-esteem. At Interventional Psychiatry Group, we provide thorough evaluation and personalized treatment plans to help patients manage ADHD effectively.
What is ADHD?
Individuals with ADHD may experience inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that interfere with functioning. Common challenges include difficulty organizing tasks, poor time management, distractibility, forgetfulness, emotional dysregulation (e.g., strong reactions to minor frustrations), impulsive decision-making, and trouble maintaining focus.
ADHD can also lead to secondary difficulties such as disorganization and clutter, impaired driving safety, poor financial management, sleep disturbances, and increased risk for anxiety and depression. Symptoms vary widely in severity and presentation between individuals.
What treatments help manage ADHD?
Pharmacotherapy (medication) is a first-line treatment for ADHD. At Interventional Psychiatry Group, we also offer GeneSight® pharmacogenetic testing to tailor medication choices to each patient’s unique metabolism.
In addition to medication management, our providers develop comprehensive treatment plans that may include education, behavioral strategies, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with schools or workplaces.
