Tristan McKenzie is an experienced, board-certified psychotherapist with a PhD and Master’s in Counseling from the University of Memphis. He specializes in trauma-informed therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and holistic mental health support, offering care that is grounded in compassion, evidence-based practice, and cultural humility.
Tristan is highly experienced in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, recognizing the unique developmental, social, and emotional challenges they face. She strives to create a safe, welcoming environment where young people feel heard, validated, and empowered to share their experiences. By fostering trust and rapport, she helps clients and families navigate issues like trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and emotional dysregulation with patience and skill.
She is trained in multiple evidence-based interventions including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and holds certifications in DBT (PESI, 2022) and suicide prevention (QPR). She has also completed Qualified Supervisor designation training with TLPCA, equipping him to mentor other clinicians and advance professional standards in the field.
Tristan’s approach is strength-based and collaborative, recognizing that healing happens in relationship. She integrates case management experience and therapy animal-assisted interventions to offer flexible, personalized care in both individual and group therapy settings. Tristan is committed to clinical excellence, program development, and promoting emotional growth and resilience across the lifespan.
