MEDICATION MANAGEMENT

Thoughtful, evidence-based medication care—personalized to your goals and lifestyle.

What is it?
A licensed psychiatric provider completes a comprehensive evaluation, then partners with you on a plan that may include starting, adjusting, or simplifying medications. We use measurement-based care (brief rating scales), shared decision-making, and close follow-up to maximize benefit and minimize side effects. When useful, we integrate labs and other data (e.g., sleep, qEEG insights) to guide choices.

Benefits
Tailored plan with clear goals and check-ins
Reduced symptoms that support therapy and daily functioning
Side-effect prevention/management and drug–drug interaction review
Coordination with your therapist/PCP and step-down/step-up programs (IOP/PHP)
Deprescribing and simplification when appropriate

How it works
Initial evaluation (60–90 min): history, medications, medical review, safety screen, goals.
Plan & education: options, expected timelines, risks/benefits, monitoring.
Early follow-up: typically every 2–6 weeks during changes.
Maintenance: spacing visits once you’re stable, with periodic outcome measures.

What we may consider
Medication classes: antidepressants, anxiolytics, mood stabilizers, ADHD meds (stimulant/non-stimulant), sleep agents, antipsychotics when indicated.
Whole-health factors: sleep, pain, hormones, substance use, nutrition, activity.
Labs/medical coordination: thyroid/B12/Vit D/metabolic labs when clinically indicated; OB/pediatric/neurology collaboration as needed.

Safety & policies
Black-box warnings/suicide risk are reviewed when relevant; we create a safety plan.
Pregnancy/lactation planning and teratogenic-risk counseling when applicable.
Refills: please request several business days in advance; visits required for controlled meds.
PDMP checks/agreements for controlled substances; occasional urine screens when indicated.

FAQs

How long until I feel better?
Some improvements appear in 2–4 weeks; full effects can take 6–12+ weeks, depending on the medication and dose.

Will I be on meds forever?
Not necessarily. Many patients taper once skills, supports, and stability are strong; we’ll decide together.
